Thanks For Donating @ CHS Blood Drive

Our National Honor Society would like to thank everyone in the district who donated blood during Catskill High School’s blood drive on March 8th, it was a huge success! The Red Cross collected 51 units of blood which will help save approximately 156 lives!

Students' Lunch Fundraiser Helps Fight Hunger

Students prepare salad during FACS classCatskill High School’s FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) program cooked up a special lunch for faculty and staff as a fundraiser for Matthew 25, a food pantry serving people in need in the Catskill area. On February 16, approximately 75 students took part in planning, preparing, or delivering 50 meals that staff at school and in the district offices purchases. They served up pizza with meat or vegetarian options, salad, and custard for dessert. Together, students and staff raised $250 to help fight hunger in our community.

Choral Students Join Honors Performance Series

Choral student pose with board president, choral teacher, and superintendentAt the February 15th Board of Ed. meeting, CHS students Jenna Murray and Caitlin Van Loan were recognized for their acceptance into the Honors Performance Series, which brings together some of the most talented young musicians to perform under the direction of a master conductor at one of the most celebrated concert halls in the world. As part of their experience, the two sopranos headed to NYC for several days of rehearsals, leading up to a performance at Carnegie Hall on February 5th. Pictured here are Jenna and Caitlin with interim superintendent Annmarie Barkman, CHS chorus teacher Michelle Storrs, and Board president Kyle Lyles.

 

CHS News Show Makes Leap to Cable TV

Catskill News ShowCatskill High School is pleased to announce that our student-produced Catskill News has made it to cable television. You can now catch the show on Mid-Hudson Cable (Channel 11) when it airs Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Thursdays at 5:30pm.

 

Catskill News is a weekly show featuring Catskill High School announcements plus school and community news. It is produced by our school's Broadcasting class and is also distributed through the Catskill News email list and the Catskill News link on this website.
