We are pleased to announce the Catskill Board of Education is entering negotiations with a final candidate. With Questar BOCES leading the search, the Board interviewed three finalists on February 1. CHS News Show Makes Leap to Cable TV
Catskill High School is pleased to announce that our student-produced Catskill News has made it to cable television. You can now catch the show on Mid-Hudson Cable (Channel 11) when it airs Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Thursdays at 5:30pm.
Catskill News is a weekly show featuring Catskill High School announcements plus school and community news. It is produced by our school's Broadcasting class and is also distributed through the Catskill News email list and the Catskill News link on this website.
Catskill Students in Juried Art Show
Artwork by Catskill High School students is on display as part of the 2017 Juried Art Show at Columbia Greene Community College, which features select works from high school students around our region. The show runs January 26-February 24 in the Foundation Gallery, located in the college’s Art Center.
Catskill Spelling Bee Winners Headed to Regional Competition
This January, Catskill Elementary School and Catskill Middle School held their school-wide spelling bees with students participating from grade 4 to grade 8. We are pleased to announce that 5th grader Dominic Lanuto (left) is our Elementary School winner and 6th grader Karsen Chiminelli (right) is our winner from the Middle School. Both students will represent Catskill at the 2017 Capital Regional Spelling Bee on February 7 at Proctor’s Theatre in Schenectady. Congratulations to our Catskill champions!
Pre-K and Kindergarten Registration for the 2017-18 School Year
This March, Catskill Central School District will be conducting registration for students entering
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten in September, 2017.
Parents who will be registering a child for Kindergarten or Pre-Kindergarten will need to provide certain documents at their scheduled registration appointment. Learn more...
Board of Education Adopted Goals for 2016 - 2017
1. Reduce referrals, in school and out of school suspensions by 10%
2. Decrease course failures by 10% each quarter from the previous year.
3. Increase the graduation rate of grade 9 cohorts from the previous year.
4. Increase by 5% proficiency and mastery on state assessments.
5. Read on grade level by the end of grade 2.
