On November 17 and 18, Catskill High School’s Jenna Murray and Edward Donahue participated in the Zone 9 Area All-State Festival at Tri-Valley Secondary Schools in Grahamsville. Sponsored by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), this event showcased some of the most talented student musicians in our region. Jenna, a Soprano 2, performed with the Women’s Choir and Edward, a Bass 1, performed with the Mixed Choir. The two juniors were selected for this honor based on recommendations they received and the Level 6 solos they performed at the 2017 NYSSMA Solo & Ensemble Festival in May (Level 6 is the most challenging level a student can perform). Jenna and Edward were two of five students from Greene County tapped for Area All-State; Zone 9 represents Greene, Ulster, Rockland, Sullivan, and Orange counties. Congratulations!
