Students’ Stars Shine Bright on “Nova”

Student painting star on NovaHere’s a sneak peek at Catskill Elementary School’s “Cat’n Around Catskill” cat for 2018. “Nova” sports a patchwork quilt inspired design. Each student K-5 lent their talent to this colorful kitty by painting a star inside one of Nova’s over 700 squares. Some chose to paint with solid colors, others chose to add designs or patterns. The colors of the squares fade into each other to create an overall bright and colorful design. CES art teacher Jenifer Allison came up with the design, which allowed all our students to lend a hand and shine together. Nova is sponsored by the Catskill Teacher’s Association and will be on display on Main St., Catskill from Memorial Day to mid-September.
