Lacy Subaru Donates Science Books to CMS for Second Year

For the second year, Lacy Subaru in Catskill has generously donated more award-winning science books to Catskill Middle School. On October 16, the dealership’s Lacy family personally delivered the books to CMS, where a representative group of students, faculty and administrators were waiting to receive them in front of the school.

The donation was made possible by the Subaru Loves Learning Project in partnership with the Science Books & Films (SB&F) Project at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). This program seeks to donate outstanding, prize-winning books to schools with the goal of engaging young learners in the world of science, technology, engineering, and math (aka STEM).

“We are very appreciative that Lacy Subaru chose Catskill Middle School for a second year to be the beneficiary of this worthwhile program,” said CMS principal Kerry Overbaugh. “Their outreach is a great example of how our community and school can work together for the betterment of our students.”

According to Dan Lacy, the owner of Lacy Subaru, his dealership’s involvement in the project stems from their commitment to the Subaru Love Promise, which is an organizational belief in being a part of the community, setting an example, building lifelong relationships, and ensuring that the love is felt not just by their customers, but by all because it is the right thing to do.

CMS will distribute the books throughout the science department, where they will serve to enrich our curriculum.

Thank you Lacy Subaru!
