Shelter-in-Place Drill Held at MS/HS

Dear Catskill CSD Community:

This morning, the District collaborated with the state and local police departments to facilitate a Shelter-in-Place Drill at our Middle and High Schools. The state police utilized their K-9 unit(s) to search the interior and exterior of both schools. Staff and students remained in classrooms until the drill was completed. Teaching and learning continued throughout the K-9 sweep.

The main goal of the K-9 sweep is to ensure a safe, drug free learning environment for our students and staff. The Catskill Central School District is very appreciative of the state and local police departments. We will continue to collaborate with them to conduct future drills.

As always, if you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly at (518) 943-4696.

Respectfully,

Dr. Ronel Cook
Superintendent of Schools

State Police and Catskill Police K9 officers and thier dogs

Special thanks to the NYS Police and Catskill Police Department officers who participated.
