Senior High Chorus performs at All-County Festival
The sounds of music filled Catskill High School as the Catskill Music Department hosted the Greene County Music Educators Association (GCMEA) Fall All-County Festival. 34 Catskill students, along with other talented students from area schools, were selected to attend and perform at the festival. Schools included Cairo-Durham CSD, Coxsackie-Athens CSD, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk CSD, Greenville CSD, Catkill CSD, Hunter-Tannersville CSD, and Windham-Ashland-Jewett CSD. The festival hosted four performing groups: Elementary Chorus – chaired by Ann Drewello, Junior High Band – chaired by Seth Dowling, Senior High Jazz Band – chaired by Robert Fitzgerald, and Senior High Chorus – chaired by Michelle Storrs. The festival was co-chaired by Mary Jo Verdichizzi and Ann Drewello.
Students were selected to perform at this festival based on teacher recommendations and NYSSMA scores.
The Elementary Chorus was directed by Ms. Diana Karl and accompanied by Ms. Janet Brooks. Catskill students selected for this ensemble included: Kaylee Boan, Alexandra Hallam, Kylie O’Connell, Kendra Tedford, Olivia White, Makayla Woolsey, Gabriella Amato, Brody Haggerty, Victoria Heim, Madison Mudge, Tegan Morehead, and Elizabeth Signoretti.
The Junior High band was directed by Mr. Andrew Van Ness. Catskill students selected for this ensemble included: Maya Weaver, Emma Brown, Meeghan Darling, Alexandra Rose, Joseph Konsul, Abigail Lane, Adam Konsul, Nicholas Konsul, and Christopher Konsul.
The Senior High Chorus was directed by Mr. Kevin Giroux and accompanied by Keira Weyant. Catskill students selected for this ensemble included: Jenna Murray, Alexa Powell, Caitlin Van Loan, Samantha Weber, Amara Wilson, Ava Higgins, Regina Johnson, Ebone Walcott, Magnus Bush, Matthew Rivenburgh, Andrew Tran, Elisha Clause and Edward Donahue.
The Senior High Jazz Band was directed by Mr. David Gleason.
