Dear Catskill CSD Community:
The Catskill Central School District is very excited to announce a proposed capital improvement project to enhance our facilities for 21st Century learning.
The proposed improvements will enable us to better prepare our students for college and career readiness. One improvement includes additional spaces designed for collaborative project based learning. If approved by voters, the project would bring much needed improvements to the District’s academic programs, classrooms, buildings, security controls, roadways, parking lots, and athletic fields.
The proposed project was developed by gathering input from various stakeholders—including staff, students and community members—as well as a Building Condition Survey performed in 2017. The input from stakeholders was crucial to create a shared vision for District facilities and define the project scope.
This resulted in a $40,795,000 million project to benefit all Catskill Central School District’s students, staff and community members. The District expects to be reimbursed by New York State 69.5 cents for every eligible dollar spent. The monthly tax increase for the average single family homeowner is estimated to be $8.41 per month to cover the borrowing costs for this project.
Forums and meetings are scheduled in the upcoming weeks to review the proposed improvements so that community members are fully aware of what improvements are on the proposition. The forum and meeting schedule is listed below.
