Some middle school shining stars visited CES on May 8th to share with 5th graders what life at CMS will be like for them next year. Groups consisting of both 6th graders and 8th graders (24 middle schoolers in total) dropped into fifth grade classrooms to share what students can expect heading into middle school, show a student-made video introducing them to CMS, and answer any questions they had. Now in it’s second year, this event is the first in a series of student-involved transition services organized by the CMS guidance department to help prepare our elementary students for a comfortable transition into 6th grade. Later in May, every 5th grader will visit the Middle School and be paired up with a 6th grade buddy to shadow for a morning of classes.
