In May, the Catskill Elementary Student Council sold 12” x 18” American Flags in honor of Memorial Day. Purchasers could choose to have their flags tagged with either who it was in memory of or the name of the family who purchased it to honor all those who died serving our country. The students sold 300 flags and raised $1,200! They will donate all their proceeds to the Greene County Fund for the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall.

The flags were placed in front of Catskill Elementary School for the Memorial Day weekend to remember and honor those who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. After the holiday weekend, the flags will be donated to the Town of Catskill Veteran’s Cemetery.
