Twin County Recovery Offers “An Apple A Day” Prevention Program

Dear Parents/ Guardians:

Twin County Recovery Services is beginning a program called An Apple A Day for students in kindergarten through grade 3. An Apple A Day is a literature-based prevention program designed to build self-esteem, understand and manage feelings, develop trusting relationships with reliable adults, and healthy friendships with peers. Through stories, journaling, and activities, the child is led to appreciate the wonder and beauty of the world and recognize the need for maintaining a healthy life style.

An Apple A Day fosters an interest in reading and self-expression through writing. All the books used in this program are trade books easily available through the library. It is our hope that you will make time to read with your child.

Please direct any questions about the program to Helen M. Exum, Senior Prevention Educator at Twin County Services, Inc. at 518-697-6195 Ext. 1183.

Sincerely,

Helen M. Exum BS,
