CHS students will have two cats adorning downtown Catskill this summer. Once again, the CHS art program is creating a cat for The Heart of Catskill’s annual Cat’n Around Catskill Summer Exhibition. In addition, art students Regina Johnson and Elijah Dedrick have teamed up to make a design of their own. The pair recently attended The Heart of Catskill Artist Reception held at the Senior Center, where businesses came to see the designs and choose a cat to sponsor. To the delight of the students and CHS art teacher Wendy Doney, the pair picked up a sponsorship from Coldwell Banker Real Estate while the CHS cat got sponsored by Kirwin’s Game Store. Our students’ designs were two of over 100 designs submitted, with only 57 or so being chosen to adorn the streets of Catskill for this year’s Cat’n Around Catskill event! Cats can and Cats Will!
