Senior Signing May 15

Catskill High School will celebrate its annual Senior Signing this Friday, May 15 at 12:45 p.m. on Mid-Hudson Cable Channel 11 and on catskillcsd.org.

Catskill’s Senior Signing is a symbolic event that celebrates its soon-to-be graduates’ commitment to the next phase of their lives, be that college, military service, or in the workforce. It also serves as the official announcement of the graduating class’ top ten students. While social distancing guidelines prevent the traditional assembly that usually marks this ceremony, the school has recreated the experience as closely as possible through a video that the seniors and the entire community are encouraged to “come together” to view when it airs.

Around the time the video will be airing, CHS faculty, guidance counselors and administrators will deliver to the students’ homes celebratory yard signs, the senior pens they would have used in the ceremony, and their caps and gowns, yearbooks, and senior t-shirts.

“With all the disappointing news the Class of 2020 has had to accept because schools are closed for the remainder of their senior year, our school is going out of its way to do something special for them,” said Catskill High School principal Benjamin Bragg.

School officials are currently exploring different options to celebrate Commencement for Catskill’s Class of 2020.
