Greene County Legislation Grant Helps Students Connect

Special thanks to the Greene County Legislation, who on November 9 presented Catskill Central School District with the Wayne C. Speenburgh Legislative Grant. This $1,000 grant will help provide the Internet to students who otherwise would not have access to it at home. Since the COVID-19 health crisis began, Catskill Middle School’s assistant principal, Mr. Junait Shah, has spearheaded our efforts to make sure all our students can access their online studies by working with Mid-Hudson Cablevision, Verizon, and AT&T to get students connected through home installations or mobile hotspots. The Legislation also provided our District with support in the spring.

To date, we have received over $7,000 from the Greene County Legislation, Catskill Rotary, the Catskill Educational Foundation, Fortnightly Club, The Bank of Greene County, and VFW Post #770 Auxiliary. We are proud to be able to partner with our community and help over 110 students stay connected to school!
