Important Information From Dr. Cook – Feb. 4, 2021: All Schools Continue With Remote Learning Week of Feb. 8-12

(February 4, 2021)

Dear Catskill CSD Community,

I wanted to inform you that all District schools will continue with remote (virtual) instruction for the week of February 8-12, 2021. Again, there will be no in-person hybrid instruction next week.

Our ten-month instructional staff will continue to work virtually from home. Ten-month essential staff will be contacted by their supervisor to report to work.

CTE, Heavy Equipment and New Visions students are permitted to continue with their in-person programming. Door-to-door transportation will be provided to students who attend the CTE and Heavy Equipment programs. Transportation for New Visions students will continue as normal.

The following week, February 15-19, is our scheduled Winter Break, during which there will be no classes. We fully anticipate that all schools will reopen for in-person hybrid instruction on Monday, February 22, 2021, barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Please be reminded that it is important to continue to communicate with us regarding any quarantines and / or positive COVID-19 cases that may occur in your household. You can convey this information to your child’s principal or school nurse. Please also continue to complete our daily health screening form for each school day. We strongly encourage everyone to follow CDC protocols such as wearing masks, staying socially distant, washing your hands often, and avoiding gatherings to help stop the spread of COVID-19. We strongly encourage all students and staff to stay home if they are feeling ill and / or have COVID-19 related symptoms.

As always, I can be reached at (518) 943-4696 if you have questions.

Respectfully submitted,

Dr. Ronel Cook
Superintendent of Schools
