Dear Catskill Families,
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding some calendar changes and other important information that pertains to the end of the school year.
Due to our not using most of our snow days this year, the District has four give-back days. As a result, there will be no instruction for students on the following days:
- Wednesday, May 26, 2021 – No Classes
- Thursday, May 27, 2021 – No Classes
- Friday, May 28, 2021 – District Offices and Buildings are Closed
- Friday, June 18, 2021 – The District will be Observing Juneteenth, District Offices and Buildings are Closed
Last Full Day of Instruction for High School Students
The last full day of instruction for CHS students is Tuesday, June 15, 2021.
Early Dismissal for CES/CES Students June 21-24
CMS and CES will operate on a full-day schedule through Thursday, June 17, 2021. For the last week of school, Monday, June 21 through Thursday, June 24, 2021, CMS students will be released at 10:30am, while CES students will be released at 11:30am. Thursday is our last day of school for students, as Friday, June 25, 2021 is a Professional Development Day for staff.
In closing, our goal is to have as many in-person (outside) end-of-the-year celebrations are possible. Our principals are working with their teams to explore different options to recognize students that are appropriately aligned to CDC and DOH regulations at the time of the event. More information will become available as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in our area.
Again, we encourage our parents to please keep your children home if they are experiencing any COVID-like symptoms, as this could not only affect the health of our students and staff, but also our plans for any future celebrations.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any additional questions or concerns.
Dr. Ronel Cook
Superintendent of Schools
