Catskill senior Matthew Caro and music teacher Michelle Storrs-Ryan are honored as 2021 Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) Capital Region Scholars Recognition Recipients. CASDA’s annual recognition salutes the highest achieving high school seniors in our region and the teachers who inspire them.
Along with being Catskill’s 2021 Valedictorian, Matthew attends the New Visions STEM Program at RPI, has been involved the CHS music and drama programs, and played varsity volleyball. He plans to study engineering at the University of Connecticut.
CASDA grants each student honoree the opportunity to nominate a teacher who has had a significant influence on their education. In his CASDA write up, Matthew explains that Mrs. Storrs-Ryan’s “continued support and encouragement has done a lot to help me become a better, kinder, and more confident person.”
