Catskill’s superintendent, Dr. Ronel Cook, CHS principal Junait Shah, and STEM teachers Shannon LaChance, Tom McNamee and Brian McDonnell joined Questar III staff on a visit to SUNY Cobleskill to learn about the innovative programs the college offers and gain insight about new STEM initiatives that could be developed here in Catskill, particularly in the new STEM facility/work area Catskill is developing on our secondary campus as part of our voter-approved capital project. During the visit, they met with the school’s Dean of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Tim Moore, and faculty member George Crosby to learn about their hydroponics program. They also learned about the college’s Fishery and Aquaculture program and saw its indoor hatchery operations where a variety of species are bred. The tour finished with a visit to the Agriculture Engineering Technology Department to see the college’s heavy equipment operation and diesel maintenance program.
