Catskill High School’s musical ensembles attended the New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) Majors Festival June 8 and 9. Each group performed for the judges three specific selections from the NYSSMA list of music (dependent on their selected level of difficulty). Levels of difficulty at the event ranged from Level 1 to Level 6.
On June 8, the CHS Band returned to NYSSMA Majors for the first time since 1999 and received a Silver Rating at Level 3! Congratulations to our band members and to Mr. Dowling, our band teacher.
On June 9, the CHS Chorus attended the NYSSMA Majors after their hiatus due to the pandemic and received a Silver rating at Level 4! The CHS Treblaires also performed and received a Gold rating at Level 3! Congratulations to our vocal students and to Ms. Storrs, our chorus teacher.
Our students worked hard all year on their specific music selections to perform for the adjudicators. Cats can and Cats will!
