CMS Students Move to In-Person Instruction at CHS December 12

Update – students returned to CMS on January 3

(December 8)

Hello CMS/CHS Families,

While work continues to bring CMS back to working order, we are happy to announce that we will welcome our CMS students to in-person instruction in the CHS building, starting Monday, December 12. Grade 6 students will be occupying the former space of the Catskill Academy. Grade 7 and 8 students will follow their normal schedules to reassigned rooms at CHS.

That Monday, December 12, CMS/CHS will operate on a 2-hour daily schedule where classes will begin at 9:35 a.m. (CES will still be running on their normal schedule). All students will enter the main entrance of CHS. Please remember, parent drop off is in the CMS circle to allow our buses to drop all students off in the CHS circle. More information will be given to students during their period 1 class. Staff will be available to help students maneuver their way around the building. We also ask that students bring back a Chromebook if they borrowed one for virtual learning.

Please ask your children to check their Google Classroom for more information tomorrow. Finally, we ask that you please have patience while we transition our middle school students into the CHS building. We believe that in-person instruction is the best way for our students to learn and we know that there may be kinks along the way. We are hoping to get our students back to their home at CMS as soon as possible. More importantly, we ask that all students wear blue to school and all staff will wear orange to show our support of each other!

Thank you, and GO CATS!

Sincerely,

Thomas Bongiovi
Interim Superintendent
