Physics Classes Head to Six Flags

Catskill High School’s Core Physics and College Physics classes headed to Six Flags for part of their final exams. Physics teacher Stefanie Loomis assigned each class a set of amusement park rides to analyze based on the topics they have covered in class so far (Motion, Force, Energy, Momentum). That meant going on the rides (of course!) but it wasn’t all just fun and games. Each data packet posed different questions to the students and the data they analyzed varied based on the class. For example, questions had the students look at how fast a cart could speed up or how much energy a person has based on their location on the ride. Definitely an experience to “tweet” about!
