Four vocalists and one instrumentalist from Catskill High School attended the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Zone 9 Area All-State festival hosted at Suffern High School on November 23, an honor reserved for some of the most talented music students in our region. Seniors Raven Lynch and Madison Mudge, and juniors Gabriella Amato and Elizabeth Signoretti were selected from an application process to represent our district in the Mixed Chorus ensemble, while sophomore Isabel Johnston was selected for the Band ensemble. They gained consideration for this opportunity based on the scores they received at the adjudicated NYSSMA Solo Festival held last April at Kingston High School, where all five performed Level 6 solos for the judges, the highest level of difficulty. CHS vocal students are under the direction of Michelle Storrs-Ryan and instrumental students are under the direction of Seth Dowling.
