Two weeks into Junior Scientists Club and our 3rd grade scientists have completed a couple of awesome experiments! Week one’s experiment was Dancing Raisins, where they used raisins, water and soda to learn about predictions, carbonation and conclusions. Their conclusion was that raisins sink in water, but dance in soda due to the carbonation. During week two, their experiment was about mixing oil and water. Oil and water don’t mix! However, when you add dish detergent it breaks down the oil and allows it to mix with the water (and also causes lots of bubbles)! Everyone did great a job and they are looking forward to their next experiment!
