The Board of Education has appointed Matthew Parker as Catskill Central School District’s new business manager, effective July 1, 2025. As business manager, he will oversee the District’s finances, budget development, business office, and operational departments, among other duties.
Mr. Parker is no stranger to Catskill CSD or its finances, as he has been the District’s treasurer since 2024. Before becoming treasurer at Catskill, Parker served as treasurer for the Hudson City School District, and before that as the deputy treasurer and a bookkeeper for the City of Hudson. He also attended the Office of the NYS Comptroller’s Academy for New York State’s Local Officials Government Accounting Schools and is a member of the Association of School Business Officials.
He is a graduate of Greenville High School and lives in Columbia County with his wife and their two school-age children, plus two cats. When not at work, he enjoys hanging out with his kids, who lead him on interesting adventures all over the area.
“Originally being from Greene County, my working in Catskill has been a bit of a homecoming for me. I am very much looking forward to working with this community to support our students, make sure our buildings are fully staffed, and maintain and improve our school’s facilities and programs,” Parker said.
The Board appointed Parker at its June 11 meeting to replace Catskill’s assistant superintendent for business, Dr. Brett Miller, who is set to retire on August 15 of this year.
