
Catskill Central School District is pleased to welcome Brian H. Terry, Ed.D., as the district’s new Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Terry brings more than three decades of experience as an educator and instructional leader, with a strong background in curriculum development, science education, professional learning, and districtwide program improvement. Most recently, he served as the P-12 Science Chairperson for Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools, where he supported teachers, staff, and students across five buildings, guided curriculum and instructional initiatives, and helped foster a shared vision for academic excellence.
Throughout his career, Dr. Terry has led initiatives that expand opportunities for students and strengthen teaching and learning, including the establishment of an award-winning Outdoor Environmental Center, elementary STEAM nights, science leadership programs, dual enrollment coursework, and interdisciplinary learning experiences. He has also served as an adjunct professor, presented regionally and nationally on science and STEAM education, and contributed to professional organizations dedicated to instructional leadership and science teaching.
He looks forward to joining the Catskill CSD community and working collaboratively with students, families, faculty, staff, and administrators in support of meaningful learning, academic growth, and continued district success. Outside of his professional work, Dr. Terry values family, community involvement, and service, and he looks forward to building strong relationships throughout the Catskill CSD community.
