Hi, my name is Tracy Darling. I’m a 1992 graduate of Catskill High School. I have a son Tristan who graduated from Catskill High School in 2022. I have a daughter Stevie who graduated from Catskill High School in 2024. My son Tristan went on to higher education and has graduated with a degree in computer science. My daughter Stevenson also went on to higher education and is currently enrolled in a Registered Nurse program. I currently have four nieces and nephews enrolled in all three of Catskill School Districts buildings.
I previously served on the board of education from May 2012 until June 2020.
Catskill is my community and has always been my community. I chose to stay here, and raise my children here. The Catskill school District has always given this community a strong connection. We have watched many of our students achieve unreachable milestones. This community has always been very proud watching many of its students grow and achieve. That’s what a local school district means to a small community.
In recent years, we have seen a divide. A divide that Catskill is strong enough to most definitely overcome. Children are the reason this institution is created to educate them. Education should have nothing to do with the melodramatics or the unfortunate events that are starting to occur here. We need to return to the basics.
I would like to end with the words from two men this community benefited from in so many ways. In the words of the late Dr. Ronel Cook, Cats Can and Cats Will! Lastly, the words of one of our best principals, Mr. Junait Shah, Go Cats!
Thank you for your time and your vote!
