Mrs. Doney’s Graphic Design class and Mr. McDonnell’s Digital Photography classes enjoyed a visit by Karin Henderson, a local graphic designer in the Saugerties area, who graduated from Catskill High School. She studied at SUNY New Paltz, received her degree in graphic design, and has worked in the field over 25 years. CTE teacher Mrs. Marino contacted Mrs. Henderson and coordinated for her to come speak to students who take Art-credited classes and are interested in the field of design.
Mrs. Henderson showcased the work she has created over the years and explained to students through the visual presentation of her work the road she took to achieve her success.
Her message to students was not only one of hard work and determination, but also of communication and kindness, and how far those values will take you. Mrs. Henderson’s powerful and authentic presentation was very engaging, prompting many questions and discussions amongst the students. We are proud to call her a Catskill alum!
