The CES Junior Scientists after-school program has been busy conducting experiments the last few weeks. This week our 3rd grade Junior Scientists conducted the Magic Milk with Skittles Experiment. Allways a students favorite, this experiment’s results did not disappoint. Four groups of students poured either milk, warm water, vinegar, or vegetable oil onto a plate of Skittles laid out in a circle. What they discovered was that the colors of the Skittles in water, milk and vinegar began to run and form different shapes, while the Skittles in the vegetable oil became encased and did not change at all. Ms. Erceg and Mrs. Mahoney said the kids were very excited about this experiment. Wait until next week! Stay tuned!
