One of the goals of Catskill Elementary School’s Jr. Ambassadors Club is to realize how much fun we can have interacting with each other both indoors and outdoors without electronics. This January and February provided plenty of snowy opportunity for the club members to get outside and enjoy a winter wonderland. They played in the snow cooperatively, learned to snowshoe, built a sledding run, shared sleds, made snowmen, and socialized together. “I want the students to learn the importance of fresh air, exercise, and interacting with each other in person,” explained CES school nurse Mary Jo Murphy, who advises the club.
