Representatives from Catskill CSD took part in the Annual Arbor Day Celebration held at the Catwalk Institute on April 24, where a beautiful swamp white oak tree was planted in memory of Purcell Palmer. Purcell and her husband were the founders of the Catwalk Institute. The Catskill Elementary Student Council Members read pieces regarding Arbor Day, CCSD Superintendent Junait Shah spoke of the importance of Arbor Day, and Catskill Middle School students performed some musical selections to honor the day. They were among many other speakers including members of the Catskill Tree Council, Executive Director of the Catwalk Institute Sheila Henderson, and Catskill Village Board President Natasha Law.
