On October 9, CMS students took part in Greater Sense of Place. This longstanding tradition, dating back to the early 1980s, seeks to connect students to their wider community through hands-on workshops, field trips, and outdoor adventures.
These activities support students’ social-emotional wellness, fosters community building, and provides opportunities to experience things they might not otherwise have access to or know about.
This year, students enjoyed workshops and activities at Albany Indoor Rock Gym, Catskill Chocolate Company, Cone Zero Pottery, the NYS Museum, Olana State Park, Thomas Cole, and Village Blooms. Outdoor activities included fishing, hiking at Kaaterskill Falls and North Lake, kayaking, and mountain biking. Students also visited Kiwanis Ice Rink and Samascott Orchards.
