Our elementary, middle, and high school students created three distinct cats that adorn the streets of Catskill as part of the Heart of Catskill’s annual summer exhibition, this year celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States of America and the 20th anniversary of the Cat’n Around Catskill exhibition. At CES, art teacher Jennifer Allison designed and mapped out the cat’s design and then every student in the school played a part in painting it. You can find it on West Bridge St. near the High School entrance. At CMS and CHS, a group of artistic students was responsible for designing, naming, and painting their cats. The CMS cat is outside the Catskill Public Library, while the CHS cat can be found out in front of WellNow Urgent Care. We hope you’ll get a chance to see the cats on the street throughout the summer. The auction is September 19 this year; the cats will up until then! Awesome work, Go Cats!!
