Dear Catskill CSD Families,
We’re excited to share that Albany Med EmUrgentCare is partnering with Catskill Central School District to offer your child access to high-quality medical care—right from the school nurse’s office.
Tentatively scheduled for this September, students will be able to participate in telemedicine visits during the school day. With your consent, the school nurse can connect your child to a licensed urgent care provider via secure video to evaluate and treat a variety of common health concerns.
What’s included?
The program uses specialized diagnostic tools that allow the provider to view your child’s ears, throat, skin, and more—making virtual exams as thorough and effective as possible. You’ll also have the option to join the visit remotely, so you can stay involved in your child’s care in real time.
Common Conditions That Can Be Treated via Telehealth:
- Sore throat, ear pain, pink eye
- Cold symptoms, fever, asthma flare-ups
- Headaches, nausea, menstrual cramps
- Skin rashes, impetigo, scabies
- Minor cuts/wounds, UTIs, sinus infections
How it works:
- Services will be billed through your child’s health insurance. If your child is uninsured, Albany Med’s Financial Assistance Program can help ensure they still receive care.
- On-demand telehealth services connect your child directly with a local medical provider to deliver quick and quality care, with 98% of students returned to class.
- Parents/Guardians can join the virtual visit and observe as the school nurse and the medical Providers evaluates and treats your child right from the nurse’s office.
- EmUrgentCare will supply specialized telehealth equipment, COVID/Flu and strep tests and over-the-counter medications for a complete evaluation from the nurse’s office.
- EmUrgentCare is able to treat students with or without insurance. With Albany Med Health System’s financial assistance program they can help students get quality, local care at affordable prices.
- Your students are guaranteed to be evaluated by a local medical provider. If further care is needed, we will provide an expedited in-person visit at one of our 9 convenient locations, or a visit summary to bring to your preferred facility.
To participate, your child must be registered.
