Dear Catskill Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!
As I begin my first full school year as Superintendent, I could not be more excited to welcome our students, families, faculty, and staff back for another great year. It is an incredible privilege to serve a school community with so much pride, tradition, and potential.
Our first day of school for students is Tuesday, September 8, and our entire team is looking forward to seeing your students back in our classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, athletic fields, and throughout our schools.
This year, we will continue working together to provide every Catskill student with meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and prepare for what comes next. We have a lot to look forward to, and I am excited about the momentum building across our District.
Over the coming weeks, families will also see some exciting developments. The District will soon unveil a new and improved website designed to make information easier to find and our schools easier to connect with. We are also preparing for an important capital project vote in early October that will come at no additional cost to taxpayers. Much more information about the project, proposed improvements, and the upcoming vote will be shared soon.
To help families stay connected and informed, printed 2026-2027 District calendars will be arriving in the mail soon. Throughout the school year, ParentSquare will remain our primary source for District and school communications, so I encourage families to regularly check ParentSquare for important announcements, events, reminders, flyers from outside organizations, and updates from your child’s school(s).
Strong schools are built through strong partnerships, and I am grateful for the continued support of our families and community. I look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students and staff and continuing to build a school district that makes all of Catskill proud.
Here’s to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, opportunity, and plenty of Catskill pride.
Go Cats!
With pride and admiration,
Mr. Junait Shah
Superintendent of Schools
