CCSD Moving to All-Electronic Communications

Dear Catskill Parents and Guardians,

We are just a few weeks away from the start of a new school year! I’m writing to share some important updates about how Catskill Central School District will be communicating with families going forward.

We are transitioning to entirely electronic communications at all three school buildings. This change will help us save paper, postage, and those overloaded book bags!

To ensure you receive these messages, please make sure we have your current email address and phone number on file.

If you do not have internet access and cannot receive digital communications, please contact Kim Vela, our registrar, at (518) 943-2300 ext. 1401. We’ll work with you to make sure you stay informed.

Here’s what you need to know about our communication systems:

SchoolTool
This is our student information system that lets you view report cards, grades, assignments, schedules, attendance, and contact information.

  • Catskill Elementary School will provide paper report cards for Quarter 1 and electronic report cards SchoolTool for Quarters 2, 3 and 4.
  • CMS & CHS will provide all report cards electronically in SchoolTool.
  • You’ll soon receive a message from SchoolTool with instructions to download the app and register for the Parent Portal.
  • A link to our SchoolTool log in page can be found on the District’s website.

ParentSquare
This is our main messaging and notification platform. Most families are already signed up.

LINQ Connect
Our Food Service Department uses LINQ Connect to share menus and manage student meal accounts—no need to send cash to school.

  • Look for a ParentSquare message soon with details on how to register.
  • Menus are also posted to our website’s Food Services page

Pikmykid
Used by Catskill Elementary School for parent pick-up.

  • New families at CES will receive sign-up instructions through ParentSquare.

You will soon begin receiving important updates from your child’s school through these systems. Please read them carefully to stay informed throughout the year.

We look forward to a great school year ahead!

Sincerely,
Deb Johnson
Acting Superintendent
