Catskill High School’s Top 10 Seniors – Class of 2024

The Catskill High School Class of 2024’s highest-ranking students based on weighted grade point averages are:

Valedictorian

Ian Fitzmaurice

Ian Fitzmaurice, son of Lisa and William Fitzmaurice of Catskill, plans to attend the University of Miami next year to major in Biology on the pre-med track. He attended the New Visions Medical Program at Questar III during his senior year. Ian participated in varsity soccer and track and was treasurer of his class, the National Honor Society, and Student Government. Ian has worked for The New York Restaurant and Hunter Trauma Care and currently works part time at Piccolo in Leeds, NY.

Lucas Fisher

Lucas Fisher, son of Jodie and Thomas Fisher of Catskill, plans to attend the University at Buffalo next year majoring in Aerospace Engineering. Lucas was a member of the National Honor Society as well as participated in varsity football, hockey, and track. Lucas currently works at Pegasus in Coxsackie, NY.

Devin Fitzmaurice

Devin Fitzmaurice, son of Lisa and William Fitzmaurice of Catskill, plans to attend the University of Miami next year to major in Biology on the pre-med track. He attended the New Visions Medical Program at Questar III during his senior year. Devin participated in varsity soccer and track and was vice president of his class, president of the National Honor Society, and an active member of Student Government. Devin has worked for The New York Restaurant and Hunter Trauma Care and currently works part time at Piccolo’s in Leeds, NY.

Emily Allen

Emily Allen, daughter of Kristie and Kevin Allen of Catskill, plans to attend North Carolina State University next year majoring in Biology. She attended the New Visions Scientific Research and World Health program her senior year. Emily was co-president of Family and Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) as well as vice president of National Honor Society. She also participated in varsity soccer and track. Emily currently works at Village Pizza II in Catskill, NY.

Ryan Carter

Ryan Carter, son of Christie Craigie-Carter and Andrew Carter, plans to attend Boston College next year to major in finance. He attended the New Visions Business, Finance, and Marketing program at Questar III during his senior year. Ryan was a five-year captain of the varsity soccer team and won MVP of the Patroon Conference as a senior. He also ran track, played basketball, was vice president of the school store, and co-chair of the finance committee for National Honor Society. Ryan currently works as a cashier for Walmart and recently interned at KASH CPA firm.

Madison Jones

Madison Jones, daughter of Christi-Jo and Todd Jones, plans to attend Appalachian State University in North Carolina next year to major in Construction Management. She was an officer for Catskill’s FCCLA chapter and National Honor Society member. Madison participated in varsity volleyball and softball in her senior year. Madison currently works for the Rip Van Winkle Country Club in Palenville, NY and Toad’s LLC in Cairo, NY.

Dominic Lanuto

Dominic Lanuto, son of Michael and Joanne Lanuto of Catskill, will attend Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida where he will major in sport business on track to an MBA and minor in photography. While in high school, Dominic was captain of the boys varsity soccer team, a member of the varsity track and field team, and a member of the National Honor Society. During his soccer career, Dominic was recognized to the Patroon Conference First Team All Stars, traveled internationally to Ireland, and was a mentor to several underclassmen. Dominic has balanced his time between traveling three hours for club soccer, school, and a part-time job at his family’s local business. He would like to thank his family and friends for their unwavering support throughout high school.

Isabella Woods

Isabella Woods, daughter of Ramona Pacheco and Christopher Woods, plans to attend SUNY Geneseo next year to major in Psychology. Isabella was an officer of the Catskill chapter of Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) and was a member of the National Honor Society. Isabella works for Label Shopper in Catskill, NY.

Grace Guenther

Grace Guenthner, daughter of Michael and Jodi Guenthner, plans to attend Siena College in the fall to major in Political Science. She attended Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson, NY during her senior year. Grace was an officer for Catskill’s FCCLA chapter, secretary of her class, and a member of the National Honor Society. Grace currently works for the Catskill Health Food Store.

Mia Gittsman

Mia Gottesman, daughter of Bart and Patricia Gottesman, plans to attend Mount Holyoke College next year to major in English. Mia was an officer in the Catskill High School chapter of Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), was a member of the National Honor Society, and participated in many events with the high school’s chorus. Mia currently works at Gracie’s Luncheonette in Leeds, NY.
