Connor New Principal of Catskill Elementary

Stacey ConnorThe Board of Education has appointed Stacey Connor as the new principal of Catskill Elementary School, effective July 1, 2024. Ms. Connor has served as Catskill Elementary School’s assistant principal since July 2022.

“Over the last few years I have learned a lot about this wonderful community and experienced all of the amazing things we have going on in our elementary school and in our district as a whole,” said Connor. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to work with our dynamic group of students, staff, and families as we continue the good work that has been established here in Catskill.”

Conner holds dual certification as a school building leader and school district leader, and earned a certificate of advanced study in school leadership from the Leadership Academy at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. She also holds a master’s degree in childhood literacy from the College of St. Rose and a pair of bachelor’s degrees from SUNY Plattsburgh, one in special education and the other in childhood education.

Prior to becoming an administrator here in Catskill, she worked as a special education teacher. Connor is the parent of three children, with one in middle school and two in elementary school. When not at school, you’ll most likely find her cheering from the sidelines at one of her children’s games and spending time with her family.

She replaces outgoing principal John Rivers, who the Board appointed as Catskill Central School District’s new director of athletics, health, and physical education, effective July 1, 2024.
