Out of the Darkness Walk

Catskill High School’s student-led “Yellow Ribbon” Teen Suicide Prevention Team has been advocating for suicide prevention and awareness for more than 20 years and has been given the honor of hosting the Columbia-Greene Out of the Darkness Campus Walk this year due to their dedication to this important cause. This community walk is part of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) signature student fundraising series, designed to engage youth and young adults in the fight to prevent suicide, the third leading cause of death among people ages 15-24. Held in hundreds of cities across the country, walks like these are the core of the Out of the Darkness movement, which began in 2004.
Students, family members, friends, neighbors and coworkers will walk side-by-side to raise funds, support one other, and remember those we have lost.
