A student favorite! On October 12th, firefighters from the Catskill, Palenville, and Kiskatom fire companies visited CES to talk about fire safety and share tips on what students should do if there is ever a fire at home – don’t hide, get outside! Of course, they also brought along some of their big trucks and other cool firefighting equipment to show the students. Interior firefighters Rochelle Lentz and Ernest Taylor even raced to see who could put on all that protective gear the fastest (Ernest won the first round but Rochelle won the second, so the question of who is the fastest remains unresolved). Special thanks to the volunteer firefighters who came out to CES on Thursday, and to all our firefighters in the district who help keep our communities safe!
