Important Information from Dr. Cook – January 15, 2021: Continuation of Hybrid Instruction for the Week of January 19-22, 2021

January 15, 2021

Dear Catskill CSD Community,

I am pleased to inform you that all District schools will reopen on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 to continue with hybrid in-person instruction. The seven-day positivity rate is declining and we will continue to monitor the data to ensure that the health and safety of our students and staff is the priority in these uncertain times. I am also pleased to inform you that the majority of our staff have taken the first of two Moderna COVID vaccination shots. Nevertheless, we encourage staff and students to stay home if they are feeling ill and / or have COVID related symptoms.

In closing, Monday, January 18, 2021 is a celebratory day. As a result, the District will be closed this Monday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. No instruction will take place on Monday. We encourage you and your children to reflect on the life of Dr. King and his contributions to mankind and society.

Please continue to communicate with us as we will continue to communicate with you. As always, I can be reached at (518) 943-4696 to answer questions and address concerns.

Respectfully submitted,

Dr. Ronel Cook
Superintendent of Schools
