Dear Catskill High School Families,
We are pleased to inform you that C.T. Male Associates, who conducted the air quality sampling in the High School, has informed us that it is safe for students and staff to return to the building. In-person classes will resume on Monday, April 3.
C.T. Male has provided us with the results of their testing, which was conducted in the crawl space under the science wing where the broken pipe was discovered, the first-floor classrooms directly above the crawl space, as well as the second-floor classrooms above those. In summary, the air quality in the areas tested is normal. They detected only trace amounts of chemicals commonly found in cleaning supplies. The maximum levels detected were in single-digit parts per billion, levels that are well below the limits set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
This is certainly good news and we are happy to welcome everybody back at the High School on Monday!
