Catskill High School art students enjoyed a visit from Bethany Wynne, a research fellow at the Thomas Cole National Historic Site who works on educational programming and as interpretive displays director. She spoke to the Studio Art classes about painter Thomas Cole, his home here in Catskill, and the Hudson River School Art Movement. She also engaged students in a discussion about the current exhibits at the site and about opportunities that students could get involved in. After studying and working on their Hudson River School painting project in Art class, the students were able to reinforce their knowledge of this important art movement and learn more about its significance to the very area in which they live.
