Each year the third grade invites grades pre-k through second to visit the third grade classrooms and learn about different holidays around the world. Each third grade class studies a different holiday and the third grade students then teach the younger students about that holiday. This year, the following third grade classes shared what they learned about German Christmas (Mrs. MacCormack), Las Posadas in Mexico (Mrs. Morrow), Winter Solstice (Mrs. Maccaline), Hannukah (Mr. Sutton), Santa Lucia Day in Denmark (Mrs. Tedford), and the International Day of Peace (Mr. Rice). The younger students completed a craft related to the holiday to take home as a memento.
