Cats’ Wrestlers Pin Down Spots at State Qualifiers

Catskill has five wrestlers heading to the state qualifiers! At the Section 2 Class C Tournament held February 5, the Cats’ Danny Forbes (160lbs) took first place and is now seeded #1 in the section. Stephen Forbes (189lbs) took 2nd and is seeded #3. Marco Dodig (152lbs) took 3rd and is seeded #5. Jerome VanAlstyne (215lbs) finished 4th and ranks #9 overall, while Roman Gonzalez (126lbs) also finished 4th and ranks #11 overall. Our wrestling team as a whole took 5th in Class C, which given our small size, is quite an accomplishment.  

The boys head to the Section 2 Division II Championships tomorrow, February 12, at the Cool Insuring Arena in Glens Falls. Congratulations and Go Cats!
