(December 5, 2022)
Dear CMS and CHS Families,
This is an important update on the water main emergency we experienced on our secondary campus over the weekend.
Catskill High School:
Heat and water have been restored and CHS will open on Tuesday, December 6 for in-person instruction.
Catskill Middle School:
Water has been restored, however the building’s boiler room experienced significant flood damage and the building currently has no heat. We are still assessing the situation, but unfortunately it appears that it may take an extended period of time to get heat back into the building.
As a result, CMS will be on virtual instruction Tuesday, December 6 through December 9 (updated December 8 with addition of end date). There will be no in-person instruction and students will report to classes online only.
- ChromeBooks – For any CMS student who needs one, ChromeBooks are available for pick up today (December 5) from 4:30-6:00 p.m. at the CHS main building entrance. ChromeBooks may also be picked up at CHS tomorrow (December 6) from 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
- Student Meals – We will continue to provide meals for CMS students on school days while under virtual instruction. Meals can be picked up at the CHS main entrance from 10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.
We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we work to address this situation. As always, we will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
Sincerely,
Dr. Dan Wilson,
Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services
