Alarm System Malfunction at Secondary Campus

February 26, 2024

Dear Catskill Community,

This morning on the secondary campus our lock down system malfunctioned and sent an alarm to the Catskill Police Department. The lock down alarm did not go off on campus and our schools did not go into lockdown. As a precaution, the police department responded and the secondary campus went into a hold in place to allow the police to investigate. The police cleared the building and the hold in place was lifted. We believe the malfunction may be due to an upgrade made to the alarm system over the winter break and we are currently working with the alarm company to address it.

Thank you,

Dr. Dan Wilson
Superintendent of Schools
