The CES Literacy Fair was a fun filled family night promoting the love of reading and writing. On December 6, students walked through the familiar CES doors and found themselves strolling through the North Pole in a Winter Wonderland. Over 75 students in grades pre-K to second attended this great event! The children enjoyed read-alouds and literature based activities presented by over 25 of our very own teacher and staff volunteers. Nights like the Literacy Fair help CES students become better readers at school and at home.
Each child received his or her own bag of “snow much fun” books and literacy tools. This Catskill Educational Foundation and PTA sponsored event ensured all children went home with new books and fantastic prizes for students who completed an at-home reading log.
The night was more frosty fun than we could have imagined! It was a wonderful night where students warmed their hearts with reading, seeing their families and teachers as life-long readers. Keep an eye out for next year’s Literacy Fair which is going to be DINO-MITE!
