Absentee ballots were mailed on Monday, June 1, 2020. You should receive your ballot by Thursday, June 4, 2020. Many of you have received the budget newsletter, which highlights our promise of a high quality education with offering students additional programs and opportunities to advance their social, emotional, psychological, and physical and educational needs.
This year’s voting process is different than years past. The CoVid 19 pandemic has altered the process. Again, this year, you will receive an absentee ballot in the mail. You will be required to complete the absentee ballot and return it either by US mail or you have an option to leave the completed sealed ballot in the Board Clerk’s secured drop box, located behind the Superintendent’s office at 343 West Main Street, Catskill, New York 12414. Whether you mail your ballot or drop it in the lock box, the District must receive your ballot no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. Absentee ballots received after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 will not be counted. I encourage you to use the secured drop box to ensure that your vote counts.
Last week, the Greene County Board of Elections mailed absentee ballot applications to registered Republican voters for the June 23rd primary. Please do not confuse our ballots with the applications that were mailed by the Board of Elections. In-person voting for the school budget vote and elections will not take place this year.
Please feel to contact Ms. Judy Kusminsky at (518) 943-4696 with regards to questions about the absentee ballots and the secured drop box that’s located behind my office.
