Congratulations to Catskill’s FCCLA, who once again excelled at the NYS FCCLA Leadership Conference. The two-day conference was attended by 178 students from around the state, who used their skills taught in family and consumer sciences classes to compete in STAR (Students Take Action with Recognition) Events. Below are Catskill’s results from these competitive events:

As gold medalists, Liam and Louise both qualified to compete in the National FCCLA Leadership Conference.
Also during the conference, Mia Gottesman and Isabella Woods presented a workshop on the Families First national program and were the voting delegates.
The conference was planned and implemented by the 2023-2024 NYS FCCLA Executive Board, of which Catskill’s Madison Breunig-Smith was the Vice President of Competitive Events and National Programs. At the closing ceremony, Madison finished her leadership role and Catskill’s Leon Hong was installed as the next NYS FCCLA 1st Vice President for 2024-2025.
To top off the conference, Catskill’s FCCLA received Outstanding Chapter of the Year for a well rounded program of work!
